Please play this one…Aretha Franklin singing her 1968 hit Since You've Been Gone. The song rose to number 5 on Billboard's Hot 100 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMJfaiu_uL4

Pat Vegas, the bass player is the last surviving member of the band. It was his brother Lolly that did the lead singing and he passed in 2010. The band was formed by the two brothers in 1969.

Great reaction! Redbone's other big hit was – Witch Queen of New Orleans. Very cool tune!

Something else that is unique about the band , 3 left handed guitar players. Dont know if the drummer is a lefty also. But the odds of 3 lefties is out there! A remote? U mean the dial on the TV? Top VHF bottom UHF. 1974

Founded in 1969 Redbone was a funk rock band and this was their top 5 Billboard hit in 1974. The band was made of of Mexican Americans and Native Americans. Great song. I was a JR in HS and we rocked it a lot.

It's the theme song for "F Is For Family". Very 70's. I remember it on the car radio when I was a little kid.

I’m just pissed that they stole the song from Bill Burr’s show.

First time I've come across your channel. Like the song, but don't like the translucent mirror-image song video. They're not all playing left-hand guitars.

A1974 performance by them on the Midnight Special tv show starts with a full dress tribal dance. Very cool. Yes all members are Native American. This was a huge hit and a big song in the movie Guardians of the Galaxy. Worth the watch. Thanks for reacting. Here's the video with the tribal dance…… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0J6vURwLSc

Indigenous is a Nakota blues band. I haven't listened to them in years, but pretty much everything on their album Circle is great. "You Left Me This Mornin'" if you want something to react to. "Evolution Revolution" for something to just listen to

Aside from Redbone the only other "Native" Band I can recall is Blackfoot – I'm certain there were/are some others I just can't think of their names. But I do know there are a number of performers that are at least part native. Gordon Lightfoot comes immediately to mind.

Mr. LR – Check out their funky song, “Niki Hoeky” – the PJ Proby version (1965) is the first Swamp Rock song ever recorded.

The song went Gold immediately exceeding 250.000 selling records in 1974. Fun fact….

I go crazy for this song. I was 14 when it came out. Now, at 61, I still play it. 1974 was the year. They were Native American Indian and Mexican. So they were called redbone. A Cajun term for mixed culture or half breed.
